Another great cookbook is Joyce White’s “Brown Sugar: Soul Food Desserts from Family and Friends.” It is filled with holiday baking treasures.
I am very proud to present My Baking Portfolio which displays some of the tasty treasures that I have made over the past year. Don’t worry, I will continue writing about the music that we have all come to love but I also notice that occassionally people search the site for recipes so I decided to do this feature. I will eventually create a separate blog for baking, maybe. Here are some other holiday favorite for your enjoyment.

I’m with Ronn, you’re murder on my waistline!
I made the Pecan Tarts for Thanksgiving and I was a hit! First my husband comes into the kitchen and says “well look at her, Betty ain’t got nothing on her”. And while at my mom’s everyone raved. I made 48 and they were gone. Poof! And don’t worry, I gave credit to my wonderful internet friend. I can’t wait to make the Eggnog Rum Cake
I can’t wait for the traditional Chrismas baked good package. I like the layout of the baked goods page, but what does the arrow at the top of the screen do? The basic format has potential and expands readily. I think it’s a winner, it exhibits the goods well at a quick glance and you could use the first page to link to more defined and categorized other pages, ie click on a cake and have a link to a cake page along with the recipe on the cake.
You WENT there with the 7-Up cake!
Embarassing question: Suppose I wanted to try my hand at the Egg Nog Cake; what utensils do you recommend (pans, bowl, mixer, etc)?
dang e.j. did you make that cake that pound cake look like one my mom makes dang i wish i could grab a piece to eat now *lol*
Oh lawdhamercy..will you be my second husband once removed? I’ll make you coffee.
Yes! That’s what I’m talking about!
I don’t know which one to try first, but I bet it’ll be the sweet potato pound cake!
